Appleby puts new Zen Tour Blade into play at the Byron Nelson Classic
Stuart Appleby leads the pack after the first day at The Byron Nelson Classic using the new Zen Tour Blade putter.
After retaining the US Tour’s inaugural Mercedes Championship in Hawaii in January, Stuart rallies by carding one of the lowest ever opening rounds of his 10 year career. |
 |
During 2005, he and his coach Steve Bann worked closely
with Zen to perfect the set-up of this entirely new design
which features ground breaking patented “Micro Ridge”
face technology and new “Vertical Gear Effect”
engineering that improves forward roll. The new design also
benefits from a detachable Zen Oracle training system that
enables the golfer to practice the Zen drills and then configure
the putter as a Blade or Mallet format for play on the course.
The Zen Tour Blade putter is the culmination of extensive
finite element analysis and high speed ballistic testing carried
out by the eminent team of sports scientists & researchers
assembled by Dr Steve Haake at The University of Sheffield,
England. More in depth information on the scientific research
will be published shortly. |

Zen Oracle Exhibits to over 60,000 visitors at London Golf Show, April 2005
In what has been billed as Europe’s largest ever Retail Golf Show, some 60,000 estimated visitors took their chance to experience the Zen Oracle “Direct Feedback” system on the Linksgreen Evening Standard central putting Arena. No fewer than 7 other stands also featured the putter, and Zen’s inventor Nick Middleton was on hand to direct the demonstrations and guide one-to-one coaching sessions. “The exhibition was a great success and the feedback from the public was just incredible.” commented Nick Middleton.
During 2005, Zen looks forward to developing its collaboration with its exhibition and UK marketing leading UK partners.

Zen holes its first major tour win ...
News
Date 23rd December 2003. Peter Lonard uses the Zen Oracle
Tour Putter to secure victory in the Australian Open at
Moonah Links.
Peter’s win included final round birdies on the 13th
16th and 18th holes to fuel the lowest putting averages in
the top finishers. Peter has struggled with his putting during
2003, and this victory follows quickly after his introduction
to the Zen Oracle on the US Tour. The Australian Open adds
to his Australian PGA Championships and now boosts his world
ranking a massive 14 places to no. 28 to secure the top spot
on the Australasian Order of Merit and automatic invites
to the US Masters and British Open 2004.
"We are delighted with Mr. Lonard's achievement with
our Zen Oracle Tour Putter and congratulate him on winning
one of Australia's major golf tournaments ", states
Bob Hanington, CEO of Zen Corporation USA. "We couldn't
have asked for a better success story than having such
a consistently great player choose our product and do so
well with it." Since
putting the Zen Oracle Tour Putter in play four events
ago, Mr. Lonard has had four top 9 finishes, three top
5 finishes and one win.
