zenjin imagesThe Zenjin is an Elite Golf Performance Programme that engineers Mind, Body and Motion.

A collaboration with SportsPulse and Sheffield Hallam University's Centre for Sport and Exercise Science, the Zenjin programme benefits from a hand-picked team that has a wealth of experience in athlete support, applied research, healthcare and corporate wellness.

The team includes practitioners in the following fields: physiology, psychology, biomechanics, nutrition and sport therapy who have worked with the governing bodies of many sports through the Sports Council-funded Sports Science Support Programme and the World Class Performance Programmes (WCPP).

Zenjin provides the tools and understanding that enables the Golf Athlete to appreciate how best to use modern Sport and Exercise Science to optimise performance at Work, Rest & Play.

Zenjin Education Programme

Starting November 2006, Zenjin will host a number of key golf science events aimed at the professional or keen amateur wanting to take their game or teaching onto a new level.

Zenjin, the golf performance programme, a collaboration between Zen and Sheffield Hallam University, hosts a major forum and workshop on putting science, technology and coaching. Speakers and members of the audience comprise elite golfers, coaches and scientists covering diverse research and technology in the game. Participants include former US Open Champion Alison Nicholas, England EGU Elite Squad Coach Graham Walker, Professor Ian Maynard sports psychologist advisor to the EGU, Dr Simon Goodwill sports scientist in ball impact technologies, Dr Jon Wheat, senior researcher in biomechanics, Dr Kristan Bromley the Olympic Skelton Bob champion, delegates from golf equipment manufacturers and several top county players.

The event is headlined by Dr Christian Marquardt, Neuroscientist and Inventor of the Science & Motion Putt Lab, Munich together with Zenjin student Mr Matt Wilcox, who volunteered as participant to a top level putting analysis session.

Other presentations were provided by scientists and practitioners in the field of Golf and sports technology, including:

Top Spin & Length Control in Putting

Dr Norman Lindsay, Scientist (Inventor of high top spin theory and dimple error putter face technology current used by Stuart Appleby to win 2 USPGA Tour victories in 2006)

 

A Putting Analysis & Training Workshop followed that included a demonstration by Mr Shaun Womersley of the innovative Eclipse Golf putting trainer and fitting station and Mr Phil Gazeley of the 2 Thumb Grip Company.
